The book in Albanian, entitled Kompozitor Bojan Adamic in Albania<\/em>, will be promoted on the special event on February 8, 2024 in the foyer at National Theatre of Opera and ballet in Tirana, Albania.<\/p>\n

Prof. Vasil Tole, vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of Albania and Dr. Darja Koter, professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, prepared the book in close cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Tirana and with the Adami\u010d family. Translated into Albanian by Berishaj Nikolla, the book has been published by the Albanian National Center of Book and Reading in the cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Tirana and the Albanian Academy of Science. Translations into Slovenian and English are being planned in the future.<\/p>\n

The book describes the life path of Bojan Adami\u010d and his work in Albania in 1947, when he was sent as cultural aid in the field of music at the initiative of the then authorities. In his research, prof. Vasil Tole also mentions that Bojan Adami\u010d is credited with the reestablishing of the Albanian symphony orchestra, the military choir, and the Opera and Ballet orchestra. The book presents an interesting story of the joint history of Yugoslavia and Albania and is the result and continuation of the international scientific symposium in 2022 in Tirana.<\/p>\n

The initiative idea for the research on Adamic work in Albania, was initiated in 2021 by H.E. Peter Japelj, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Tirana.<\/p>\n

During the time of the research, many very important documents were discovered in the Archives of Yugoslavia Belgrade, which reveal the real background of Adamic’s work in Albania. Among other things, they also explain that he was chosen as cultural aid, for which the request came from Albania. A very important source of information is also his report he had sent to Belgrade in May 1947, in which he very concretely explains and analyzes the situation in the orchestra and beyond, which was supposed to help in the selection of new musicians in Yugoslavia at the time, who would be later on in 1947 sent to Albania.<\/p>\n

In addition to the book, the life and work of Bojan Adami\u010d in Albania in 1947, in the wider context of the conditions at that time, will also be presented in the documentary film Albanska Sonatina<\/a>, which is being prepared for RTV Slovenia. The premiere is expected in Slovenia in the spring of 2024, and later also in Albania.<\/p>\n
