Bojan Adamič and jazz in the “Samo muzika” program on ARS
14. 10. 2026
On October 5, 2026, the Samo muzika (Just Music) episode titled Bojan Adamič and PORL was rebroadcast on the podcast of Radio Slovenia’s ARS channel. Hosted by Marko Kumer, the program was originally produced in 2025 to mark the 30th anniversary of Bojan Adamič’s death.
The program offers listeners more than just music; it also presents Adamič’s life story, his creative work, and his thoughts on jazz. Through music and spoken word, the personality of this composer, conductor, and musician—who played a pivotal role in Slovenian music history—is revealed.
Special attention is also given to the RTV Slovenia Big Band, which Bojan Adamič founded in 1945. In doing so, he laid the foundations for an orchestra that has made significant contributions over the decades to the development of jazz, popular music, and orchestral creativity in Slovenia.
Bojan Adamič left an indelible mark through his work, musical versatility, and attitude toward jazz. His views on music remain compelling today, as they shed light on an era when Slovenian jazz and popular music were just beginning to establish themselves.
The rebroadcast of the Samo muzika episode Bojan Adamič and PORL is thus more than just a chance to reconnect with his music. It is an opportunity to remember an exceptional artist, listen to his reflections, and rediscover the rich musical heritage he bequeathed to Slovenian culture.
You can listen to the program via the ARS podcast.
